Are You Interested in Reducing Plastic Waste & Other Ocean Issues?
Join us later this year as we launch the CBO Initiative To Reduce Ocean PlasticWaste. Our core objective is to effect real change at the point of purchase for these convenience-based plastic products.
We will start by distributing CBO reusable shopping bags through-out the BVI for both locals and yacht charter guests to use.
Simply put, we need to use less disposable plastic products. Plastic waste is not only filling our landfills to over capacity, but our coastlines and tropical islands worldwide, killing millions of sea birds and marine life annually.

Welcome to the Clear Blue OCEANS website! First launched in 2007 as the CBO Foundation of Canada, based in Vancouver, BC Canada, we are now in the process of reestablishing ourselves in the beautiful British Virgin Islands (BVI) by early 2012.
From our new home, and through our proposed Clear Blue OCEANS Cafe, we will set out to effect a real change in the way the BVI and the world views the oceans and uses plastic packaging like water bottles and shopping bags, and other related products.
We will also address the over-fishing of our largest natural food resource - our oceans, and the needless killing of sharks for shark fin soup, marine life conservation issues in general and launch a program you will want to become part of: ourInitiative To Reduce Ocean Plastic Waste.
The CBO Initiative will drive much of our overall objectives and ocean awareness information programs. This website is being redesigned to integrate a full video streaming channel for MUST SEE videos about the issues and for our new Internet-series based in the BVI called Clear Blue Heaven starting in 2013.
Together with the support of our Global Partners, individuals like you, we will build a powerful new voice for healing our oceans and educate the public on how plastic waste and climate change impact all of our oceans and personal lives.
Together we will change the mind-set of how people view the oceans, and help reduce the use of one-time only, convenience-based, plastic bags and beverage bottles in particular, but all plastic food container packaging in general.
Watch the short video below featuring Captain Charles Moore, as he shares his findings of the Great Pacific Garbage Patch and the impact of plastic on our oceans.
As Captain Moore points out, plastic waste has polluted our largest natural food resource – the oceans, to the point that our fish and seafood, and thereby us, are being poisoned at an alarming rate.
In North America alone, an unbelievable 2.5 million plastic beverage containers, mostly water bottles are discarded every five minutes. That is more than 2.4 billion plastic bottles each month or over 28 billion bottles last year alone, and that number is growing.
Many of these plastic water bottles, shopping bags, food containers and countless other plastic products are finding their way into our oceans at a growing and record pace from dumping, by way of streams, rivers and tributaries. We must come together and stop this growing trend!

The time for action is long past, but we MUST Now all help increase the awareness of these important issues to help our oceans heal.
